ATTENTION PUBLIC NOTICE
It has come to our attention that several people have been attempting to defraud the general public by stating that they are collecting money for the Lighthouse hostel by either a donation of cash or by a monthly direct debit. Please note the Lighthouse hostel has not and is currently not canvassing door to door for donations nor do we plan to in the near future. Should this change any collectors representing the Lighthouse officially will have id as per charity law. If you are contacted by these individuals or have already set up a direct debit please contact the police immediately. Please share this post so that the most vulnerable in our community are not taken advantage off by these fraudsters. ... See MoreSee Less

Today we found the Elf getting stuck into a hamper!!
The Lighthouse Hostel received a donation of food hampers from the Rotary Club this morning. These food hampers are given to the ex residents who have been housed in the local area.
The hampers are full of both necessities and some extra treats for over the Christmas period🍗🍪
The Lighthouse always make sure to keep in touch with the residents when they move on and provide advice and support to them when ever they need it - their doors are always open to them!👫 ... See MoreSee Less
Isn't it good when lots of people come together to support those who need help. Sometimes the problem can seem too big for us to make a difference but team effort gets the job done.
Today we found the Elf sorting through donations from the Shoebox appeal! (He really has to have his nose in everything🤦♀️)
Lighthouse Hostel receive a generous donation from a shoe box appeal, these shoe boxes contain toiletries, hats, gloves and some even contain sweets.

Elf sitting in on a support meeting with one of the residents
at the Lighthouse Hostel again!🙂
We'll make a support worker out of him yet!
When the residents are booked in they are allocated a support worker. A support worker's role is to provide emotional and practical support to the residents with a focus on helping them to get rehoused.🤝
As part of the support process staff will help the residents identify and address any issues they have in relation to their health - both physical and mental, claiming benefits, accessing social or specialised housing, life skills ( cooking, budgeting, cleaning) , training, employment & job searches.👫👬
Support to help them get back on their feet..
